Dining with Us

From 17th May by law the rule of six applies to dining indoors and 2 households are allowed to mix indoors. Masks are to be worn when moving around inside the building. Table service will be mandatory and we have sanitizer points around the building which we encourage you to use. Parties of up to 30 are allowed outside. Every adult over 16 to check in with NHS track and trace app before entering.

From 21st June all current restrictions may be lifted although we feel masks and social distancing is with us for a while longer. We will continue our policy of extra cleaning and sanitising throughout the day to ensure we comply with all current and future COVID regulations.

We appreciate that everyone has their own opinion on the rights and wrongs of Covid and how it’s being handled and we’re sure not here to judge. However, these are the rules we are being asked to follow by government in order to keep the doors of our beautiful business open and the livelihoods of our team sustainable. So may we please politely ask that you follow the rules for us and everyone else during your visit.

Staying with Us

Our housekeeping will continue to keep your rooms serviced and thoroughly cleansed in between different guests so you can be assured that we are being as safe as possible. We ask that guests wear masks in communal corridors, sanitise on entry and leaving the accommodation areas and try to maintain social distancing wherever possible.

About The Talbot Inn

Your new hosts husband and wife Ross and Salle are thrilled to have taken over The Talbot in May 2021. After what has been a huge year of uncertainty for pubs across the land we are very excited to get stuck in and give The Talbot the love and care going forward that it needs to make it a busy, popular and friendly environment again. Rome wasn’t built in a day but with hard work and the support of the customers we will get there. After all, a pub is just a building when it doesn’t have customers in it. So, rest assured we have plenty of ideas and plans to get The Talbot back on the up and hope you will enjoy our journey with us.

Our Bar

The Talbot is proud to offer a selection of real ales, fine wines, spirits and soft drinks. We welcome people just looking to quench a thirst and those hoping to dine with a drink too. When the weather permits you can enjoy your chosen drink in one of our well maintained patio or on our Wharf stream decked terrace. In the colder times we'll light our fire and candles and make you feel most cosy and welcome indoors.
